Vintage Design
Walnut sideboard by notable Italian architect, urban planner, artist and engraver Giovanni Michelucci for Poltronova. The piece is named “Torbecchia” after Michelucci’s favorite restaurant. The sideboard is branded on the side with a signature, and is a published piece. Giovanni Michelucci lived from 1891-1990, and was known for such projects as the Firenze Santa Maria Novella railway station and the San Giovanni Battista church on the Autostrada del Sole. The architectural design in solid walnut gives this piece monumental appearance. The sideboard features two doors and 2 drawers on the frontside, two hinged lids on top of the sideboard reveal spacious storage compartments when opened. Literature: Domus, n. 426, May 1965 G.
