Vintage Design
Halboovale, slightly rounded seat on two straight, conical feet on the front and two saber-like legs on the back of each chair. Curved backrest loop -circling oval medallion as a preload motif, upper final bar with opened classical frieze made of overlapping circles. All chairs with a white version and partial gilding. Treaching upholstery with delicate yellow, silky faux uni fabric. The draft of the chairs goes back to the ancient Klismos shape, which, mostly for the front and back and on the back, is characterized by saber-like legs and a curved backrest and which is considered to be one of the first ergonomic principles of furniture types. This form has been traditional through ancient Greek vases and stone reliefs in particular and was taken up again at the end of the 18th century with the advent of early classicism under the impression of spectacular excavation expeditions such as in Pompeii by European art groomers. Condition: very good, min. Signs of age and wear, min. Abrhaben, upholstery fabric partly stained
