A mixed Arab and Berber population consisting of roughly six hundred tribes resides in Morocco, with many distinct differences in weave quality and design. Rugs woven in the Middle and High Atlas Mountains have medium to long pile heights with coarse weaves. Many of the traditional designs found in these rugs were inspired by Moorish tile patterns. This carpet has a central diamond medallion amongst stylized rosettes on an ivory field. 10′ 0″ x 6′ 6″
