Vintage Design
Stunning early “Model 3177” bench by Børge Mogensen with amazing patina. The bench is made from the most beautiful solid oak and the seat is covered with the original deeply patinated natural leather. The condition of this piece is really great. Mogensen designed this solid wood dining bench in 1956. With its robust simplicity the bench is an ideal example of Mogensen’s lifelong drive for a purified shape. Here, form truly follows function in this streamlined design with a simple back support, echoed in the upholstered rectangular seat with softened corners. The look is lean and linear, resulting in an open, expansive feeling. This example is from the earliest production at Fredericia Stolefabrik and still retains original sticker underneath. Wear consistent with age and use. The condition is great and no repairs or alterations have been made. The foam inside the seat is not dry or crumbled but still soft. The leather has no cracks.
