The Kharraz family is originally from Andalusia and came to settle in Tunisia during the 17th century. Potters from father to son, the first “master” was El Hadj Kharraz, active in the second half of the 19th century. This family of famous potters received several distinctions in Paris, Bizerte and Tunis. Their productions are a mixture of Spanish influences from the Muslim era and Ottomans.
