Found in Turkey, this hand-carved wood settee dates from approximately 1910. This backrest and sides of this settee feature an intricately carved lattice pattern with no breaks or repairs found. The settee frame is adorned with white shell inlay and surface carving. The seat cushion is covered in the original fabric with a woven pattern of birds and vines accented with metallic thread. The base features heavily carved decorative legs and apron.
Settee is in overall very good antique condition with some areas that have visible fading/wear to wood stain and a few scattered missing inlay elements. Structurally sturdy and intact. Unknown maker.
