Vintage Design
The chairs are made from elm wood, in a style typical of the region they were produced in. Their original dark lacquered finish has worn on the seats and footrest to show the paler, more natural colour of the wood beneath, adding charm and character to the pair.
The long backrests are shaped in a shallow ‘S’ curve for comfort and are each carved in an attractive design showing deer, representing longevity, set within trees and flowers. The top rails are curved and meet the subtly curved seat posts at either side.
This is one of the more unusual, rarer pairs of chairs that we have had the fortune to source and they would certainly make a statement in both a modern and traditional interior setting.
Sold and priced as a pair.
