Vintage Design
In a classic Chinese design that dates back centuries, this simple, rustic looking table would have been finished in a dark brown lacquer, with traces still visible. The top surface is particularly worn to the natural elm wood, creating a tactile feel along with added charm and character from years of use.
The rounded legs are supported by double stretchers at the sides and a single long stretcher to the front and back and fit directly into the thick plank table top. Simple carved spandrels at the top of each leg add some decoration to an otherwise fairly plain style.
Perfect today as a little console with its neat, narrow proportions, it makes an ideal accent piece for a small alcove of hallway.
