Antique black -amized round table with “Barley Twist” legs. Furniture with spiral legs or upholstery were known as “Barley Twist”, probably because it looked like bars of barley sugar that were used at the time. The twist was difficult to make oak because that wood is brittle. It was often made from walnut or beech wood. The pattern was very popular in the English furniture design and had many revivals, including the beginning of the 19th century and then again during the reign of Queen Victoria in the middle to the end of the 19th century. The side table is cleaned, treated and equipped with a thin wax layer. Dimensions: B 40 / D 40 / H 54 cm Nreed 40 cm / depth 40 cm / height 54 cm
