Son of ceramist Alfred Stellmacher (1837-1906), Eduard Stellmacher was born in 1868, but the exact date of his death is unknown. A sculptor like his father, Eduard sees himself inheriting with three other artists (Hans Riessner, painter and his brother Karl as well as Joseph Kessel, his employees and his sons-in-law) part of his father’s business.
Their specialty lies in ivory-white porcelain. By 1894, the factory had 250 employees and stores located in Paris and Berlin. Two years later, it took the official name of “Riessner, Stellmacher & Kessel”.
In 1910, Eduard’s factory went bankrupt and went into liquidation two years later.
