Offered is a vintage, circa 1960s set of ten (10) “flat” coffee / tea cups with saucers, a sugar bowl with lid, a milk pitcher, a creamer, and a coffee pot with lid from Arabia of Finland, designed and signed by Ulla Procope in the pattern called “Rosmarin” in brown (similar to the “Anemone” done in dark blue).
Each of the stoneware ceramic pieces were hand-painted by artisans, and the wet glaze was burnished, which is why no wares are exactly alike.
Ulla Procopé (1921 – 1968) was one of Finland’s leading ceramic designers of the 20th century who left an indelible impact on Scandinavian design. She joined Arabia, the Finnish producer of fine ceramic tableware in 1948 and designed several innovative and popular lines of ceramic products.
