18th Century Rustic European Dovetailed Pine Chest or Coffer

Rustic European dovetailed pine chest or coffer, c. late 18th century.

Likely Austrian or German, this hand-crafted chest is loaded with character and has a wonderful, weathered patina with a time-worn glow. It has dovetail construction, original iron side handles and turned bun style feet. It retains the lock mechanism, but it is unlocked.

A beautiful trunk with a simple design, nice details and lots of warmth. A versatile piece for any room. It is a great size for use as a small coffee table. Structurally sound and sturdy.
