Hand hammered silvered metal and brass engraved beaker beautifully hand chiseled and decorated with geometrical and botanical patterns. One-of-a-kind old Islamic Mughal style lassi drinking cup from India, beautifully hand etched by artisan. The timeworn patina varies from cup to cup.
As per the intact tag inside the cup: “Lassi cups are used for drinking ‘Lassi,’ a sweet and salty curd drink. They are widely used in the state of Punjab, India.” For generations, lassis were served in patinated metal and brass cups in India.
Made of thick, partially silver-plated brass, all hand tooled, chased and hammered, these cups today make wonderful vases or beakers to store paint brushes or pens. Great Anglo Raj, Anglo Indian collector decorative Islamic art metal object.
