Vintage Design
The table is of small proportions, veneered in satinwood with hand-painted classical decoration, including floral garlands, floral bouquets to the sides and a central portrait of a young woman to the top. It stands on elegant square tapering legs.
The table has been cleaned, burnished and waxed and has a good shine. There are signs of use to the finish in places, a few of the inlay areas appeared to have been filled or re-veneered, and there are some openings to the veneers where they have shrunk over the years. This is mainly noticeable on the top, where it also has a raised feeling in places. This should be noticeable in the photographs.
The drawers work well and have solid oak interiors with handmade dovetail construction. The drawers retain the original brass handles. The table is sturdy with no loose joints.
